In its kindest form...
As the saying goes 'with age comes responsibility' and this cottage absolutely fulfilled its responsibilities. However, without a little tender loving care, Locks Cross Cottage would be uninhabitable.
The cement render on the walls began crumbling due to moisture from the old stone work, wind whistled through gaps in floorboards and windows and ceilings were collapsing due to a leak in the roof.
Beautiful original flagstone flooring had been covered with floorboards and the fireplaces were blocked and covered.
Making this cottage safe has been our first priority!
Removal started of anything crumbling and loose whilst careful lifting of flooring began...
